Beef O' Brady's, Apopka

Edit Post
Beef O Brady's Apopka is a Franchise. The Beef's story starts in 1985 Inspired by a love of sports, Jim filled his restaurant with TVs and satellite dishes so patrons could enjoy watching a vast array of sporting events. He also covered the walls with authentic sports memorabilia he had collected through the years. As a final touch, he made sure a traditional Irish Blessing graced every menu, bidding good fortune and happy times to all who visited.
As the Beef's® story grew, so too did the menu. It was important to Jim that guests have variety (like the award-winning wings available in 12 signature sauces) as well as signature favorites with an Irish twist.
Today, Beef 'O' Brady’s® is one of the fastest growing restaurants in the country. Some call it the "Luck of the Irish." Jim would call it a darn good dream that took a lot of hard work.
The Beef O' Brady's in Apopka is very nice and well kept. You always get great service and food! If you can't make it in, have Beef O' Brady's Delivered.

Making a Difference in Orlando

This Blog is not just about restaurants and food. We love anything to better our community and nation for that matter. I met the young lady who started this charity. I personally get fired up when I meet people who have a dream and the passion to walk it out and effect change.
Mission:
Through Advocacy, Awareness, Community Involvement and Empowerment- Chapter of Thirst bridges gaps between people to enable intentional investment in relationship.
Who we are:
Chapter of Thirst Inc is a movement of people actively engaging in the lives of those around us. We exist to connect individuals with the tools, people and essentials to live a healthy and empowered lifestyle. We seek everlasting change, and hope for all we come in contact with. We help facilitate community initiatives to create a beautiful, individually inspired and driven goal. We step into the darkness and reveal light - breaking down walls of fear, biasness, and ignorance. We believe in a beautiful Kingdom and Community. For all who are thirsty…
Values:
1. Community:
We believe people were created for intentional community. Every person has talents, gifts, and aspirations that are essential for the community to flourish.
2. Redemption:
We tell our stories of redemption and strive for the people around us to know that the same redemption process is available to them. By shining light in dark places, we believe that all things can be made beautiful.
3. Love:
Through all of our actions we strive to demonstrate the love of Christ. We believe his love abounds to all people and brings healing and redemption to our lives.
4. Advocacy:
We speak up for those who are voiceless. We ensure that no one feels invisible or like another number in the system, that everyone feels valued and cherished.
5. Awareness:
We inform people of the broken and hurting parts of the world, leading people out of ignorance and into light. We strive to break down the walls of fear, biasness, shame, and defeat.
6. Empowerment:
We believe for permanent change to occur, all must come together in change. We value community participation, input, and contribution- allowing every voice to be a decision maker. We help harmonize communities to achieve a common goal a long side one another.
7. Involvement:
Continual investment in relationship is a key foundation to building community and trust. Actively engaging in goals that have been made, empowers people to seek everlasting change.
8. Justice:
We acknowledge the brokenness of our world at personal, local, and international levels and seek justice in all areas of it. We believe that ensuring justice is a vital step- for hope, redemption, love and community to ever flourish.
9. Hope:
Through all of our actions we strive to show that brokenness can be redeemed, that all things can be made beautiful. For all who are thirsty, there is hope.
Initiatives:
1. Chapters
We share our testimonies of Redemption through our website so others can see the same Hope that is available in their own lives. (Based on Acts 26)
2. Love Initiative
Revealing light into dark places through advocacy, awareness, and community presence.
• We host advocacy events for organizations and communities. We live in a society where ignorance has become acceptable. We are not content with the Status Quo. By shining light we believe others will also be empowered to see our world change. These events will also play into our fundraising goals.
• We have taped the testimonies of those who have been left in poverty or without homes because of circumstance and misfortune. We share their stories with others, striving to break down the stereotypes that have been built up around us. Our goal is to meet with different organizations and churches in Orlando- speaking out for those who have been persecuted and silenced.
• Our Volunteers meet every Saturday evening from 10pm-12am in Downtown Orlando to pass out water on the corner of Pine St and Orange Ave. We pass out 300-400 bottles every evening we meet. Our Goal is to eventually move this to events and other venues and have private labeled bottled water, allowing us to reach a broader amount of people.
3. Short Term Vision- Collectives
Creating environments and groups where people can come together in common interest and engage with others. The collectives allow individuals to create a network as well as be a valued part of community, creating deep impacting relationships. We encourage everyone to actively learn how to give as well as receive. These collectives will be based around skills that people can learn as well as improve on. We also will open avenues for the collectives to showcase their talents and work. We are hoping for a Spring Launch depending on facility partnership.
4. Long Term Vision- Community Facilitation
The key to community or individual empowerment is ownership. We facilitate community and individual change by walking through a 5- step process along side of them. At the end of the process they have created change themselves and value the project at hand. We provide the resources and networks along the way to make sure projects see completion.
INDIVIDUAL-
• Technical Skills training, finance, and other individual growth seminars. (Resume building, computer training)
• Job and technical skills training and workspace available.
• Store for people to sell and showcase work.
• IDA Program (Allowing people to save for their lives as well as being helped) Instead of just receiving money they are also investing in their own life change.
• Skills and Assets Assessments- Showing people their strengths and stewarding and mentoring them to grow those specific goals
• Mentorship Program
COMMUNITY-
• Community Discussions on Assets and Needs
• Facilitating Conversations on Projects
• Helping show the community how they can put together and oversee the project
• Partnering with local organizations and individuals who can help where the community lacks in resources and assets.
• Facilitation can only bring in 35% of the project. This provides for the community to feel ownership over the project and than in turn will steward it well.

I LOVE this place!! If your looking for something Healthy? this is the spot!! Check out the menu at Green Lemon Cafe.
The café is located between Outback and Tijuana Flats in the strip mall collection. Just about all of the eateries here have tables outside. The view here is asphalt and cars with a ribbon of traffic buzzing by on Aloma Avenue, but that does not detract from the dining experience.
Any orders $50 or more place at Winter Park Restaurants Delivered And Have it delivered!! This place closed!! The saddest day of my life..

The Altamonte Springs Rotary Club is part of a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders founded in 1905 committed to providing humanitarian service, high ethical standards in business, and creating global goodwill. The Taste of Altamonte was a project begun in 1992 with the goal of returning the funds raised to charities in our local community. It has grown to be a premier event and continues to grow each year. This year take a stroll around Cranes Roost Lake while sampling "tastes" from community restaurants including international coffees, barbecue, ribs, chicken, seafood, and other international flares from Mexican to Chinese.

The first Moe’s restaurant opened in Atlanta, GA on December 1, 2000, and offered burritos, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, salads and fajitas. Guests could choose from over 25 fresh ingredients including grilled chicken, steak or tofu. There were meals just for kids, beverages just for adults, and free chips and salsa for all guests to enjoy with every meal. To demonstrate their commitment to freshness, Moe’s has never used freezers, microwaves, animal fat, lard, or MSG. Over the years, Moe’s has added ground beef, pulled pork, bacon and Junior burritos to the menu and has featured popular limited time offers like the Chicken Club Quesadilla and Phil E. Burrito.

Edit Post
Pickles original N.Y. Deli was started in an old convenience store in downtown Orlando. The concept was a true New York Style delicatessen that focused all of it's energies on servicing all of the Breakfast, Lunch and catering needs of the business community within Central Florida. Quickly, Pickles quality and service began to get a local buzz. Many business meetings began to take place in our dining room.
People from all different income levels began to spend their lunch hours there discussing everything from sports to politics. (Syndicated Radio Talk Show Host Jim Philips reffered to Pickles as the Orlando version of the T.V. show Cheers.) Pickles quickly became the out of the way meeting place where everyone met for lunch. Then, Orange County Chairman Mel Martinez(Now Senator for the State of Florida), discovered us. Along with the majority of his colleagues, he frequented Pickles on a daily basis. Scott Joseph, The Orlando Sentinel Food Critic, wrote a full page article, on the food quality and level of service. After this article Pickles' popularity and business grew exponentially.
Pickles is located in Longwood 1891 West State Road 434 Longwood, FL 32750 In the Plaza next to the Future home of Longwood 4Rivers Smokehouse. . Pickles has now signed on with GoWaiter.com so if you can't make it in to the Restaurant you can just get it delivered.

Emiliano’Z offers so much more. The Owner has more than 25 years of experience owning restaurants in Mexico and the US, opened this Altamonte Springs restaurant in February in what was Shells seafood restaurant for many years. Always a good location due to ample space and a great patio with a view overlooking Pearl Lake, the space is now even nicer, thanks to the brilliant job interior designer Eduardo Perrone has done with it.
A very attractive bar/lounge is immediately on the right upon entering. The main dining room with its comfortably spaced layout offers views of the interior fountain as well as exterior water views from just about every table.
There are two private rooms, as well. The one off the main dining room seats 30; the large loft-like room overlooking the main dining room and bar/lounge area seats 50. These rooms are perfect for private parties from birthdays to baby showers, and for business meetings.

In 1972, Houlihan’s first opened its doors in Kansas City with a progressive, eclectic menu and energetic bar scene. Ferns hung throughout, artifacts cluttered the walls and tapestries made by San Francisco hippies formed the ceiling. Caviar burgers, roasted duck, foot-long hot dogs and fresh carrot juice were just a few original menu items so ahead for its time. It was hot.
Before long, there were a lot of ‘casual dining’ restaurants opening and call us crazy, but they looked a whole lot like us. We tried to be flattered. Some grew really big, and by the ’90s, the whole ‘casual dining’ landscape was pretty me-too. Instead of watching the consumer, the industry seemed more worried about what competitors were doing. Casual dining lost its way, and in doing so lost its edge.
Fast forward to 2002. That’s when we had our ‘Aha!’ moment (as Oprah would say). New leadership, new ideas, new inspiration. We completely re-imagined ourselves, and got back in touch with the consumer. New menus. New plates. New building design, new soundtrack. Stylish uniforms. And a modern, warm restaurant design with an open kitchen and prominent bar. Today, our company is built entirely around what the progressive consumer seeks in a restaurant + bar experience. And we plan to keep it that way.
Forget ‘casual dining.’ That’s an industry term so out of touch with how consumers eat and drink today. For premium quality and style; fare that’s at times familiar and other times adventurous and a laid-back modern setting, Houlihan’s in Downtown Orlando is a true original.

Gabriels Sub Shop in College Park
Gabriel’s Sub Shop, the College Park sandwich maker, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this week. But back in 1958, Paul Gabriel didn’t think he would last six months.
Gabriel was 33 years old and working in a Pennsylvania refinery when, after a visit to Florida, he decided to leave Sun Oil for the Sunshine State. His aunt had a submarine-sandwich shop in New Jersey, and he thought that would be a good business — Orlando didn’t seem to have a sub shop.
So he took his aunt’s recipes, left his wife, Doris, and two kids at home until he could get established, and headed for Orlando.
But there was a problem Gabriel didn’t expect:
No one in Orlando, it seemed, knew what a submarine sandwich was.
He knew there might be a problem when he applied to the city for an operating license.
“They didn’t know how to license me because I wasn’t a restaurant,” says Gabriel, 83.
A restaurant, he says, was a place you go and someone waits on you and takes your order. His sub shop, was basically a takeout place. But with no license category for takeout, the city had to call it a restaurant.

Danny Broasted Located in Lake Mary brings a Mid-West flavor to Greater Orlando. “Broasting” – a revolutionary method of preparing chicken, meats, and fish by combining pressure cooking and deep frying concepts, is introduced by Flavor Fast Foods, Inc., in Rockton, Illinois. Flavor Fast Foods is formed under the leadership of Mr. L.A.M. Phalen and staffed by people associated with Tekni-Craft, manufacturers of the Taylor Freezer line.
What is Broasterie® Chicken and how does it differ from conventional rotisserie chicken? Specially developed by The Broaster Company for pressure frying, the newly introduced Broasterie® Marinade and Broasterie® Supreme Seasoning condiments provide operators using Broaster pressure fryers with the capability to produce great tasting Broasterie® rotisserie style chicken in a fraction of the time required by conventional rotisserie cooking methods. Best of all, the resulting product is more tender, juicy, and flavorful than rotisserie oven cooked chicken, yet is nutritionally comparable in calorie, fat, and carbohydrate content.
With a suggested cooking time of just 13 minutes at 360º F in a pressure fryer compared to 60 to 90 minutes in a typical rotisserie oven, this delicious new low carb menu addition allows Broaster operators to enter the soaring rotisserie chicken home meal replacement market quickly, simply, and easily using equipment they already have.

Chili’s opened as a fun Dallas burger joint with a loyalty to happy hour and blue jeans. We prided ourselves on our humble beginnings, following a devotion to great food, warm hospitality and community spirit. Today, with restaurants all over the world, we continue to cook up the best in casual fare, offering the same genuine service we did way back when. And, just as in 1975, we’re committed to giving back to the communities that have helped us grow.

Chef Henry’s has been around for only a year, but we have proudly served our clients in other locations since 1991. The latest restaurant was in Winter Park, Florida on Howell Branch Road. Chef Henry and Pastry Chef Estika gained a great number of loyal customers and so after a year’s break we decided to open another restaurant this time, however, a little differently. I decided to take on the responsibility of ownership. It has always been my dream to open my own restaurant. I started in this business very early on, making my first espresso when I was seven and I was hooked. From then on my sisters and I helped my parents in the Resort they ran in Slovakia. Here we are in Longwood in a beautiful restaurant with all the people in place waiting for you to come so we can showcase our heritage and the heritage of Central Europe. Come in for a wonderful experience with your loved ones or anyone you want to share it with. Chef Henry will cook you a great meal, Estika will bake you a strudel like your grandmother did and Evelina and I will do everything to make you feel like you are in our home for dinner. Sbarro’s roots go back to Naples, Italy where for Gennaro and Carmela Sbarro the art of crafting Italian cuisine was a way of life. The couple and their three sons, Mario, Joseph and Anthony, immigrated to America in 1956 to pursue their dream of owning a successful business in the U. S. Their Sbarro Italian Delicatessen in Brooklyn, N.Y. was well received by the local community and was the first of what would grow to become over 1,000 Sbarro restaurants. Since January 2007, Sbarro is owned by Mid Ocean Partners, a premier private equity firm.
The Sbarro name is synonymous with delicious Italian food that customers can count on for quality and taste. The year was 1977. The world was into leisure suits, disco balls and galaxies far, far away. In Charlotte, NC, they were craving chicken. But it couldn’t be just any chicken. That’s where Bojangles came in.
Bojangles Cajun-style fried chicken and made-from-scratch biscuits made everything else seem, well, in bad taste. People stopped caring about shag haircuts and bell-bottom jeans. All they wanted throughout the Carolinas was more Dirty Rice® and Cajun Pintos®.
More than 30 years later, that hasn’t changed. Neither has the recipe our founders Jack Fulk and Richard Thomas came up with. And neither have the cravings. They’ve just spread to the rest of the country.

While some other Cuban kitchens tag onto the pan-Latin craze and expand their menus to include influences from Central and South America, the humble Black Bean Deli in Winter Park remains doggedly devoted to homespun Cuban food. After 18 years, it’s still a prime choice for sturdy, soul-warming lunches and dinners.
As soon as you step inside, you barely have to close the door before you’re at the front counter, facing a menu board and kitchen team. If you don’t know what you want, ask for help, and they’ll steer you in the right direction, with a hot meal usually ready within minutes, generally in the $4 to $5 ballpark.
For dining in, there’s but a cluster of bar stools lined up at the window overlooking traffic on U.S. Highway 17-92. But the Black Bean Deli is better known as a dependable takeout joint.
